MFA Thesis

CONTEXT

My MFA thesis addressed the lack of food justice in NYC through a series of user-centered design interventions. The yearlong journey took me from food deserts to the historical and structural inequalities that permeate our systems. I worked closely with local food justice initiatives from NYC. Their knowledge and experiences were crucial sources of insights that informed my research and designs.

Through my research and interventions, I learned how youth empowerment is crucial in the pursuit of food justice; we must empower young people to be the future agents of change. I am still in close contact with the communities I engaged in and we are continuously working together in the fight for food justice.
